Someone had their phone out at a press screening of EVERYTIME at Cannes about two people down from me and after the fifth time they pulled out a phone (they had a smartphone and a flip phone!!), I leaned over Robert and the other guy and said “arrête!” in the sternest French accent I could muster and they stopped for the remainder of the film.

THANK YOUUUU for this thoughtful piece and for saying what we’re all thinking and experiencing. And this: “The rules are indeed set, but the enforcing at the moment seems to be up to the other patrons who are also there to watch a movie, not play kindergarten teacher.” WAKE IT UP!!!

OK no at the Regal I went to growing up about 15-20 mins into the movie there would ALWAYS be an usher who came in with a bright orange wand like a traffic cop
