Love the point about keeping films in theaters longer for word-of-mouth to actualy work. The distribution model is so frontloaded now that smaller films barely get a chance to build an audience organically. Back when I worked near Lincoln Square, I'd catch midweek screenings and the vibe was always so different than weekend crowds, way more locked in. The communal experience angle is spot-on tho.
“I would just keep movies in the theater for longer to really give word-of-mouth a chance to work.” !!!!!!
