Also, broadly in December, the film specifically calls out the week between Christmas and New Year’s. I like to schedule an annual viewing of it, then.
I always rewatch a handful of films in December: Eyes Wide Shut (always theatrical), It's A Wonderful Life on Xmas Eve (usually theatrical), While You Were Sleeping, The Shop Around The Corner, You've Got Mail, Bell Book and Candle, Holiday Affair, Muppet Christmas Carol, Last Christmas, and Little Women (1994).
it's fun now that I live in Chicago because I know most of the places where it was filmed! although the main train platform was torn down before I moved here.
I love watching the bitterly wet, cold, and bleak McCabe & Mrs. Miller (dir. Robert Altman) on a snowy December day. Seconding Holiday as a NYE movie and adding my other common NYE fave Phantom Thread (dir. PTA) to the mix!
Silence of the Lambs has been one of my go-to’s since 2017! Another go-to is the b movie, Santa Jaws. It’s a tradition now with my friends and I. 😂Other go-to’s would have to be The Holiday, Little Women (both versions!) and Chevy Chase’s Christmas Vacation.
Love this! Would add Metropolitan (1990)—classic New York Christmas in a way that’s fast disappearing.
Never seen it - adding to the list!

The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. It's got one Christmas song, so it counts.
Absolutely
