weekly post-screening random thoughts and feelings dump
I’ve never aspired to be a film critic even though it’s so My Shit on paper (and I respect my favorite film critics immensely). Whenever anyone suggests I should post my thoughts on movies on here I tell them that’ll never be me, I even avoid rating movies on Letterboxd as my rating would probably change with the weather. The only film criticism I engage in is going to a restaurant with friends after a movie to talk about how it made us feel - never in linear thoughts and always in incomplete sentences trying to capture the feeling.
That being said, I want to start writing about all the movies I’m seeing in my own way, and for now that means sharing the random (and sometimes incomplete) thoughts I had before, during and after each viewing experience - a virtual post-screening dinner if you will. Hope you enjoy!
