This little publication of mine has gained some new subscribers lately! Hi, I’m Ezgi and I live in Los Angeles. I started this project at the end of 2023 after years of witnessing devastating movie theater closures in LA and getting increasingly annoyed about it. The Arclight Hollywood hit me the hardest as I had literally just moved to be closer to the theater right before it closed, so I couldn’t help but take it a bit personally.
Going to the movies is my favorite thing to do and something I take very seriously. I also see the rare but real downsides of current moviegoing culture and I guess this project could be interpreted as us manifesting the perfect movie theater experience together. I refuse to believe streaming will ever replace the act of watching a movie in a theater… at least not on our watch.
