1. What’s your favorite day & time to go to the movies? 

NOTHING beats a matinee. When I leave the theater and it’s still daylight, it feels like I’ve really done something, you know? Like I went somewhere and had a whole other little life, and now I’m back in the real world.

2. What’s your favorite movie theater? 

My favorite theaters are one’s that don’t exist anymore, like the Landmark Sunshine on Houston in NYC, or the Seven Gables in Seattle. Currently a huge fan of the Los Feliz 3 in LA. The American Cinematheque, which has been in charge of programming there for a while now, is killing it. I was blessed to be able to see Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s Memoria there, which felt almost spiritual. Vidiots is also very special, and when Cinespia does their winter programming in vintage, ornate theaters in downtown LA it’s always such a wonderful, overwhelming, immersive experience.

3. What’s your go-to movie theater snack & drink combo? 

Popcorn and a soda. Coke if it’s early, root beer if…
